Jasper Blake Rides Ryder Hesjedal's Tour de Victoria

Though better known as an Ironman champion and triathlete, Jasper Blake grabbed his road bike to participate in the Victoria Cycling Festival during the last weekend of May. While Ryder Hesjadel's Tour de Victoria was the marquee event of the weekend, sounds like Jasper enjoyed Sunday’s Kid's Race the most!

This weekend I had the chance to be a bike racer and it was the most fun I've had on a bike in a long time.

The Victoria cycling festival was held Saturday and Sunday and it was a massive success. The first event was Ryder Hesjadel's Tour de Victoria which saw over 1200 people taking part in either a 140km or 90km tour of the best riding we have here on the island. I took part in the 140km event which was a mostly just a tour but a few timed sections to ramp things up. It was incredible to see how good Ryder is on a bike- when he wants to go it's truly incredible how much power he can generate. There was a bit of everything...hill climbing, sprinting and gutting it out for the last 20km along the waterfront. I was spent at the end for sure.

That same evening there was a 5km TT with one of the most spectacular backdrops in the world- ocean and the Olympic mountain range and beautiful clear sky. It was a full set up with starting ramp, TT helmets, skin suits and disc wheels- good fun! 5km as hard as you can after 140km earlier in the day was interesting. I got my ass kicked to be frank but when it's only 5km you can't really be that far behind at the end unless you look at percentages which I choose not to!

Today was the Bastion square criterium which I avoided save for the kids event that i did with my 3 year old on his run bike...great way to finish off the weekend.

Consider me a Tour de France contender come July!

Welcome to Retailer Active Life Conditioning in Ontario

We are thrilled to be working with one of our newest retailers Active Life Conditioning, in Collingwood Ontario. Sarah Applegarth and Graeme Buckrell have started to introduce INFINIT Nutrition Run, Ride and Repair to their athletes — response has been great. Presently we are working with Graeme and Sarah to create three sport specific blends for their athlete's recovery needs. It is a pleasure to work with a retailer that "gets it" — there is not a one-size-fits- all solution to nutrition. We have a platform for individuals, Teams and organizations to create blends that match their unique requirements — Graeme is running with the opportunity that we made available to every athlete. You do not need to be a pro golfer to have a product designed for you!
