Canada's Best to Meet In The Sand!

Saxton / Schalk and Infinit Nutrition Canada Partner

We are really excited to be working with Chaim Schalk and Ben Saxton, Canada's number one
ranked Beach Volleyball pair.  After spending about an hour with the pair today, I think we all realized that we can really help one another.

Chaim and Saxton currently reside in California where they do the bulk of their training.  Two a days are the norm, 2 hrs in the sand, then 90 minutes working on strength and functional mobility.  We were able to create one blend for the pair as they are basically the same weight, share the same sweat profile and we know they are training same.  The Saxton /Schalk Beach Blend will serve them well while in the sand and doing strength and conditioning work.  Of course we will support them with recovery products and our New Zealand whey isolate.  We are excited to be fuelling them to their full potential.

Chaim explains: “We are excited to be working with Infinit for our upcoming Olympic run.  In order to perform at our highest level we need to be fuelling ourselves appropriately.  We believe the blend that we have created will help us in every demanding situation that Beach Volleyball asks of us. We look forward to complete hydration, nutrition, and recovery as we prepare for the biggest season of our careers.”

Over the next month or so we will work together to understand their actual fluid rate loss, we will use this number to identify actual fluids to ingest per hour to ensure they remain fully hydrated during the various environments they train and compete in.

Beach Volleyball presents some unique challenges with respect to proper nutrition and hydration.  Games generally last about an hour, in varied weather conditions and they can play as many as 3 matches in a day.  We will work closely with one another to make certain we have optimized their fuel and recovery strategies.

Personally I will look forward to tracking their progress as they look to improve on their 2014 results, which had them ranked at 16th in the world.  We will provide periodic updates on how their season is going.
