I Am Infinit: Leslie-Anne McKenzie

Leslie-Anne McKenzie is our next featured athlete in the I Am Infinit series! Leslie has been fuelling on Infinit since 2009! Learn more about Leslie and her life as a Career Practioner and triathlete below.

Leslie-Anne, with Coach Angie Anderson at IMCDA 2016. Leslie-Anne placed 5th in her age group here. Angie was the one who introduced Leslie-Anne to Infinit!

Occupation: Career Practitioner in a high school
Sport: Triathlon
Years in the sport: 10

My Infinit Story: I took up “triathloning” as a means to get into some sort of shape. When asked what I was training for I would always say, “life”. After my 1st race I was hooked and I began to call myself a triathlete.. As I began to train for longer distance races I needed something that would get me through. My coach introduced me to Infinit and I have not looked back. I have tried other products, epic fail! 3 Ironman's, many half’s, standard and sprint distances (and all the training) later I am still using my custom blend. One tweak to my mix in all the years. I will freeze it and have what I call “Infinit freezies” while I bike; during a hot triathlon it is the best-treat ever. The Recovery product is very good and that too is freezable and after a long hot training ride followed by a brick run it is SO refreshing!

Your future goal in sport: What do you hope to achieve in the coming years? I hope to be still doing triathlons and do one more Ironman when I turn 60. My 1st was when I turned 50. I see it as a great way to celebrate a new decade. If I’m truly blessed, I’ll do one when I’m 70! If my knees give out then Aquabike here I come! I will continue with Infinit because it works, plain and simple.

I Am Infinit: Simon Aldridge

Meet Simon Aldridge, an Infinit user for only 9 months but already hooked. Here is his Infinit story.

Occupation:  Scenic Carpenter, Stratford Festival.
Sport:  Duathlon Sprint and International.
Years in the sport:  3 years in Duathlon.

My Infinit Story: I am relatively new to Duathlon, this being my third year. My first two years of competing put me on the podium in most races in my age group but I felt that things could be better. I was training properly as per my coach but I was lacking energy on the second run and was taking a long time to recover even after training runs and rides. I started this year wanting to qualify in my age group for the Denmark Multi-sport World Championship 2018. I had to get my nutrition sorted out to compete at the longer distance. I looked into what Lionel Sanders used, he burns way more calories in his races than I do. This led me to a consult with Infinit in early spring. This was a revelation for me. Now I have all my race needs in a custom liquid form, formulated to my bodies needs. I can come off the bike and have energy to finish the last run and then its straight into a bottle of Infinit Repair.

Future goals:  This winter will be spent on training for the Worlds next July. There are other races along the way but the focus is to represent Canada in Denmark.

True Story - I Love That I Am Helping My Mom!!!

My Mom has been drinking a serving of Cold Brew a day for almost a month.  She started drinking 2-3/ day she loved it so much.  I told her: "Mom, that's too much caffeine - you know it has real coffee in it".  She now drinks only one a day; always has it between breakfast and lunch and looks forward to it - 'My Treat!' as she puts it.

When in town this past weekend she told me that she has been feeling stronger and she has a lot more energy.  There is clear evidence that with exercise and increased protein intake you can increase your strength and muscle mass, regardless of age.  I am heartened that my 70 year old Mom is loving Cold Brew and the best part is that she is getting 21g more protein a day then she was in the past.

How cool is that?  Your sports nutrition company is not only helping athletes be their best, but it has evolved to help people live their fullest lives.  We have been lucky enough to be involved with 7, and counting, research projects with Dr. Stuart Phillips, the first was just published (key components: higher levels of protein and exercise lead to preserving muscle mass and strength, even increasing it).

So my Mom loves a product that just so happens to get 21 g more protein into her diet.  Absolutely win-win.

Love that I am helping my Mom and excited about the prospects of helping many more people.
